Most people remember their very first movie like a kind of magic, princesses, castles, and talking animals that burst into song. My first movie memory? Not so much.

Think about the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It had action and the time travel in the storyline. However, what stays with most people is the idea that machines might one day take control. When the film was released in 1991, it felt like pure sci-fi.

Here we are today, and AI isn’t launching a robot uprising, but it’s woven into how we live, work, and make decisions. At its best, it’s like the T-800 protecting John Connor: strong, reliable, and ready to help. But T2 also taught us something crucial: not every machine is on your side.

We’ve already seen the invasion of AI images into the mainstream media. Remember in May 2023 when that image of the Pentagon surrounded by thick smoke went viral? It looked real enough to shake the stock market briefly. The Department of Defense had to step in and say it was fake. Reuters reported it was AI-generated and spread faster than anyone could fact-check. That’s the speed of misinformation now. By the time truth catches up, the damage is done.

That’s where PR pros come in, and where having the right partner makes the difference. Our job might not be as dramatic as Sarah Connor’s fight to protect her son, but the mission is similar: we protect our clients’ reputations. We monitor for threats in real time, act fast to correct false narratives, and ensure your brand’s truth is the one people hear first.
