PhRMA

California Partnership for Access to Treatment

Success Story

PhRMA retained Cerrell as part of a statewide consultant team to enhance the organization’s brand, build relationships with key constituencies and position the biopharmaceutical industry as a leader in California’s evolving health care landscape.

Cerrell’s strategic vision, coupled with its outreach and educational activities, helped the CPAT network grow to a robust network with more than 1,400 partners throughout the state.

The Task

Implement a program to educate health care stakeholders and policy makers about collaborative efforts to remove barriers to health care.

The Strategy

Brand Creation: Develop distinct brand, mission and online platforms that would serve as the foundation for a free health communications network called the California Partnership for Access to Treatment (CPAT).

Network Launch: Communicate the network’s vision to address important issues including access to health treatments, preventative care and innovation.

Stakeholder Outreach: Engage influential health care, business and community-based organizations, as well as elected officials, to provide timely information on pressing health care issues.

Event Coordination: Conduct quarterly educational seminars throughout Southern California to discuss disease-specific topics, health disparities, the impact of chronic diseases and the value of innovation and medicines, among others.

The Result

Cerrell successfully transformed how stakeholders and elected officials perceive PhRMA and California’s biopharmaceutical industry. Our ongoing public affairs work has reinforced PhRMA’s image as a leader in the fight against today’s most prevalent diseases and a partner in improving health outcomes in California. Cerrell’s strategic vision, coupled with its outreach and educational activities, helped the CPAT network grow to a robust network with more than 1,400 partners throughout the state.
