Joe Epley, a Founding Partner of Worldcom Public Relations Group, dies at 85

Published on 30th November 2023

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Joe Epley, a founding partner of Worldcom Public Relations Group. Joe was an icon in our industry, a historian, a storyteller and so much more. A man that had a positive impact on so many.

Joe Epley established Epley Associates in 1968 and built his firm into one of the largest PR shops in the southeast.

He was national president of PRSA and chaired the PRSA Foundation twice. He also has served as chair of the PRSA College of Fellows and the Counselors Academy. PRSA awarded Epley, who sold his firm in 2005, its highest honor, the Gold Anvil, in 2008.

We will miss him and be eternally grateful for his contribution to Worldcom.
