Adapting is the key to surviving on social media.

Have you ever wondered why some brands always seem to be one step ahead on social media? The answer is simple: they understand trends and apply them in a timely manner. Digital platforms evolve at a dizzying pace, and 2025 will be no exception.

According to the latest Metricool 2025 study, which analyzed more than 1.3 million accounts and 21 million posts, significant changes are expected in user behavior and content strategies. From the unstoppable growth of LinkedIn to the rise of social commerce, here we tell you the main trends for next year.

Stay relevant and improve your engagement

It doesn’t matter what platform, creating content that connects with your audience is key.  It is also important to understand the demographics and the intent of the audience.

LinkedIn, from professional network to social community.

For years, LinkedIn was the platform of choice for job hunting and networking. But times have changed. In 2024, the most famous professional network shifted toward social media, incorporating dynamic content and participatory formats.

According to Metricool, LinkedIn experienced a 99% increase in engagement, driven by :
• Educational carousels: Visual content that explains complex concepts in a simple way.
• Internal newsletters: Regular posts that keep communities connected.
• Personal posts: Stories and experiences that humanize brands.

Recommendation for 2025: Involve your team in content creation. Testimonials and personal experiences are the driving force behind engagement on LinkedIn.

Instagram returns to the roots of static content .

Instagram has accustomed us to compulsive consumption of short videos. However, the algorithm has begun to give more visibility to static posts. The Metricool study shows that posts increased their reach by 21%, while reels lost 20% of visibility.

This doesn’t mean we should abandon video, but rather balance it with formats such as:
• Explanatory carousels: With up to 20 images to fully develop ideas.
• Strategic reels: Focused on evergreen content that maintains relevance over time.
