Many hospital emergency rooms have specific types of rooms for children admitted. These kid friendly emergency departments are equipped with specialized and appropriately-sized medical equipment and have more space for mom and dad.

Geriatric emergency departments, are staffed with physicians, nurses and specialists who are trained specifically to diagnose and care for the elderly, in a similar way that pediatric EDs preform.
