Worldcom partner, DEVENEY, worked closely with Louisiana Office of Tourism to mount unified strategies resulting in a higher quality of life for everyone in Louisiana. The PR efforts of DEVENEY and the Office of Tourism’s partnership to increase visitation in the state of Louisiana spans many years.

The State of Louisiana has endured multiple crises over time including in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. These crisis left the state in the greatest economic downturn since the Great Depression. The state was also hit hard with the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion, recognized as one of the worst environmental disasters in U.S. history.  DEVENEY was charged with rebuilding the state as a top tourist destination.

To reach that goal, DEVENEY fused multiple strategies and tactics in a tourism public relations campaign. The campaign goal was creating a strong positive image for Louisiana. The ongoing PR campaign included correcting false perceptions about the state and creating public relations opportunities to build Louisiana as a brand. They showcased the state as a premier destination for culture, cuisine, history, entertainment and adventure.

DEVENEY is a research-driven marketing firm that develops strategic action plans for engagement that are fresh, unique, on-message, and most importantly, effective at solving modern brands’ toughest challenges. They create intriguing, inspirational content that motivates the right people at the right time. DEVENEY focuses on branding, advertising, public relations, crisis and digital.
