Wrapped BC Ferries Make Big Splash

In the Fall of 2007, the construction of three new BC Ferries ships were nearing completion in Flensburg, Germany. To celebrate that and the then upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Pace Group helped turn the ships into a promotional flotilla for BC and the Games by wrapping them with oversized images of winter Olympic sports and BC scenery.
For their unveiling, the Pace Group organized a celebratory BC-themed barbeque for 2,500 guests, dignitaries and media at the Flensburg shipyard. The BBQ featuring bison burgers and BC beer was prepared by celebrity BC celebrity and First Nations chefs. The event, along with a subsequent trip by one of the ferries up the River Thames six months later received significant coverage from Canadian and European media. Providing media relations assistance were Worldcom partners komm.passion in Dusseldorf and Kaizo in London.
