To position itself as a manufacturing leader in North America and grow its presence worldwide, Rockwell Automation leverages Automation Fair, its annual trade show, to build relationships with trade media and influence the company's media coverage. Padilla Speer Beardsley executes a global trade media relations program during the annual show that includes “Manufacturing Perspectives,” a day-long media event designed to position Rockwell Automation as an advocate for manufacturing and highlight its growth areas. In 2003, the media event was attended by editors from 67 publications and a record number of international reporters. Rockwell Automation also hosted media on 98 booth tours and participated in 21 executive interviews. Numerous feature articles in trade publications throughout the world resulted from these efforts.
