News & Press

NEW YORK, May 6, 2006 – The Worldcom Public Relations Group, the largest global network of independently owned public relations firms, today announced results from the “State of Public Relations” survey conducted during its 2006 Annual Global Meeting held recently in New York City.  Over 50 senior level PR executives participated in the survey with 85% reporting optimism when it comes to business prospects.  The survey also asked Worldcom PR Group delegates to share their clients’ business outlook for their respective client industries and nearly three quarters (72%) report optimism for the remainder of 2006.

The most important client deliverables from PR firms according to survey respondents were “Strategic Counsel” and “Publicity” – listed number one and two respectively.  ”Marcom Support” and “Lead Generation” followed in a third place tie as PR deliverables in their relationships with agencies.  Additionally, the number one issue keeping midsize PR owners up at night is the recruitment and retention of good employees.  Maintaining client relationships/client satisfaction came in second, new business wins and profitability tied for third, and cost of doing business and employee benefits rounded out the top five worries.

“We are pleased to see that a large majority of our midsize Worldcom partners are thriving in 2006,” says Jonathan Holt, of Holt & Germann Public Affairs L.L.C. and Chair of the Worldcom PR Group.  “Businesses are now realizing the value and strategic strength midsize agencies provide and this recognition will continue to fuel future growth in our industry.”
