WORLDCOM PUBLIC RELATIONS GROUP CELEBRATES 20th ANNIVERSARY AT AMSTERDAM ANNUAL MEETING

AMSTERDAM, May 19, 2008 – The Worldcom Public Relations Group, the world’s largest partnership of independently owned public relations counseling firms, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a record 107 delegates from 38 countries at its 2008 Annual General Meeting in Amsterdam in April.

A highlight of the meeting was hearing four founders and former Worldcom Group Chairmen anecdotally illuminate the history and growth of the organization: Jon Holt of Holt & Germann Public Affairs; Joe Epley, former principal of Epley Associates, now the Catevo Group; Brian Cummings, formerly of Michael Burns & Associates; and Michel Dumas, former principal of BDDS.
In other business, it was reported that the total amount of business referred among Worldcom partners topped $6 million for the 2007 fiscal year. That represents a 100 percent increase in the amount of business referred among partners since 2005.
“Our founders were true visionaries who understood the potential of independent PR firms establishing a formal partnership where shared business, knowledge, expertise and ideas would be of great value to clients,” said Worldcom chairman Tom Van Blarcom of TQPR Thailand. “Six million dollars in referred business and the success of our 20th annual meeting of all partners proved them right.”
